Welcome to the first episode of season three where we are diving into the controversial Canadian classic, Bear by Marian Engel. There are DEFINITE content warnings for this one.

Bear is touted as a second wave feminist novel, but has it been done successfully? We follow Lou who is sent to an island home to catalogue the books within, whilst there she has sexual relations with a bear, yes, a bear.

We look into bestiality and why it's illegal, second wave feminism, bear deaths and why this book was written at all.

This is one not to be missed!
